WTF? WFT did I watched? Please tell me. Last week we saw entire first trailer of the new street fighter. Too me this upcoming movie have flop written all over it. It wasn’t a trailer for the street fighter movie; it was a parody of the trailer of the street fighter. I don’t know where to start. I guess they want this to be goofy and silly then serious. It looks like they want to have that MCU humor that most people now hate.
There are so many reasons that I hate this trailer. First this looks cheap. Not every movie needs to have a massive budget. Even the new mortal kombat movie look like they have more money behind it. The costumes look cheap as well. I see cosplay costumes that looks better. Hell, Bison’s suit doesn’t even fit the actor right. Next is the why they did Ken. I know that Ken can be a little cocky at times but not to this extend. The fight scenes we saw is mediocre. Better they be better when the film comes out.
My biggest issue is the casting. To be fair, they got a few of them right. The guy that plays Dhalism is good. Olivier Richters as Zangief as amazing. Jason Momoa is awesome. Rayna Vallandingham is good as well. To me the best one is Callina Liang as Chun Li. I am mixed on 50 cent as Balrog and Andrew Koji as Ryu. To me the rest of the casting is straight up trash. I have nothing against these actors but i think that they are bad choices.
Roman Reigns as Akuma and Cody Rhodes as Guile. Seriously? Did the WWE have a hand in this? Noah Centineo as Ken? Mel Jarnson as Cammy. This is one of the worst castings. Mel is beautiful but she doesn’t look like Cammy. She doesn’t have blonde hair. In the trailer, she is wearing an ugly blonde wig. Plus Mel doesn’t have the right skin tone. They couldn’t find a blonde actress with blue eyes. I would think that wouldn’t be that hard. I thought Mel was the worst casting, then I saw the actor that is playing Bison. Are you F***ing kidding me? Heck I could kick this guy’s butt. They couldn’t cast someone with a few muscles. The rest of the casting is awful as well.
Why couldn’t they model the film after the awesome 1994 animated movie? That movie still stands the test of time. It is still one of the greatest video game movies ever. You have the perfect template and they didn’t use it. Shameful! With all of this said, I could be proven wrong and the movie is good. Then I will eat a huge slice of humble pie. Yet i doubt it.
