resident evil degeneration movie review

About three years ago, I review the resident evil CGI movie resident evil death island. I enjoyed that movie a lot. I wanted to review more resident evil CGI movies but I never got around to it, until now. Last week watched one of the CGI movies that I owned. It is resident evil degeneration. The movie came straight to DVD in 2008. I believe that I only watch it one time. I do remember that I liked it. That was many years ago. So do I still like the movie or do I now hate it? Let’s find out in my spoiler free review.

Before I review the movie, I want to talk about the CGI itself. I didn’t like it back then and I still don’t it now. I know that the movie came out in 2008, but they still could have done better. Everyone is so stiff. The worst part is Claire. It seems like Claire is made out of plastic. The voice acting is very good in the film. Now to the movie. To keep the review spoiler free as possible, I will be vague about the plot and the three acts.

For the plot. The movie takes place seven years after the events of the second game. Claire is now a member of a counter bioterrorists group run by the US government. Someone has released the G virus upon the world. Suddenly reunited with Leon, the two now must stop this person and discover the truth behind this chaos.

The first act takes place in an airport. Then a horde of zombies’ attacks. Claire and a few other must defend themselves. While exploring, Claire meets up with Leon for the first time in years. Leon brings two other people with him. This was a good act. The pacing was good. The action scenes are great. Expect for a slow-motion part. For a second, I thought that Zack Snyder is directing the movie. the only thing that hurts this arc a little bit is a very annoying character.

In the second act is where things slow down. We get to learn more about the one of the villains and his motivation. There will get more into the mystery of the virus, who release it, and why. The pacing there is a little too slow for my liking. I wish it was a bit faster. It is good that we get info about the characters and the plot.

In the final act is where we get heavy in the action again. Like in the first act is action is good. The final battle is well done. Then we learn that there is more to this. As for the ending it was nicely done. There was a very sweet moment between Loen and Claire. I enjoyed the movie years ago and I still enjoyed it now. I do recommend this movie if you are a fan of the games. Yes, I do.
