letters means nothing

Earlier this year, I watched a YouTube video from HassyVerse. He made a video about that Sega should make a new console. I don’t think it will never happen. The video did inspire me to make a blog about the IPs that Sega should bring back. I printed it and mailed it to Sega of America headquarters in California. Soon after I did the same thing for Nintendo. I mailed the blog to Nintendo for America in Washington as well. I waited and waited and waited and nothing. Neither did wrote me back.

Three months has passed. I decided to resend the blogs to them again in hopes that they will write me back. Time has passed and guess what? Neither one wrote me back. I am not going to lie; it really pissed me off. A couple of days ago I almost decided to print out the blogs and resend them to them again. Then I decided to not waste ink, paper, envelopes, and stamps on them.

As a kid I wrote a lot of letters to Nintendo. You know what happened? They always wrote me back. Whenever I got a letter from them, I was always happy that Nintendo cared about me and my opinions. Now Nintendo doesn’t seem to care about me or spend a few minutes to write me back. Of course this goes of Sega as well.

This does bring up a much bigger issue. The issues is that these companies really don’t give a damn about the opinions of fans. The fans that spend their hard earned money on their products. I will give you a recent example. The fans from the spider man game for the PS4 hated the Mary Jane Waston solo missions and they told the developers that they didn’t want those Mary Jane solo missions in the next game. What the developers did? They didn’t listen and double down on the Mary Jane solo missions. In fact they took it one step further and made her an over power insufferable Mary Sue. In an interview with IGN, the director of spider man 2 pretty much said with a s*** eating smile on his face that they decided not to listen to the fans.

That interview made me sick. I have decided to never buy and play spider man 2. These developers don’t have to take the inputs of the fans all the time but at least listen and respect their opinions. Overall this cocky we know better than you and just buy and consume our products the way it is attitude is a plague not just on the gaming industry but the entire entertainment industry as well. If one of their projects failed, are they going to blame themselves of making a bad game? Hell no! They are going to blame you for their failure.
