Yesterday I was at my favorite park hanging out. I was there for over two hours. i was about to go home. Then suddenly I got a notice that a Star fox direct is going to happen within ten minutes. As you might have guessed, I was so excited and pumped. All of us Nintendo fans have been waiting for something from the Star fox series. Seriously Nintendo? You only give us a ten-minute warning. You cannot do a shadow drop on a big game like that. I just did a blog about Star fox a few days ago. Well, that blog aged like milk. So, Nate was right after all, but he got the time period wrong. It is also possible that Nate was right and Nintendo change the date because they want to catch the leakers or they want to be jerks.
I have to start with the massive elephant in the room. This is another remake of the original. Is this the 3rd one? The big question is why they didn’t make a new game? Most of us wanted Fox and the others to be in an all new adventure. Instead, we got another remake. They should give this the Metroid prime remastered treatment. Release the original with better graphics and sounds. Then make a new game for the switch 2. I think that both command, adventures, and assault didn’t sell well enough, we all know that zero was a major flop. With these three games underperforming, Nintendo didn’t want to take another risk to do something new.
The other major issue that most is having is the characters design. They have a realistic and anthropomorphic look to them. I am mixed on this. To me General Pepper looks the best by far. James, Peppy, Bill, and Pigma looks alright as well. The others on the other hand. It seems that Fox has two chins. Falco is nightmare fuel. The worst one too me is Katt. She was so cute. Now she looks like an alley cat that hadn’t eaten in a while and have a serious case of rabies.
Enough of the negatives. Let’s go with the positives. The game looks amazing. Too me this rivals Metroid prime 4 switch 2 edition for the best looking switch 2 game so far. The voice acting is great. This is some of the best voice acting I heard from a Nintendo game in some time. To add replay value, Nintendo put in both a challenge and a battle mode. Too bad I have no friends to play with those modes. Also you can game share with other switch and switch 2 systems. The feature that reads your facial movements is awesome. It almost make me want to but the camera just for that alone.
Overall I wish they made a new game. Yet I will still buy it when it arrives in June.
