Rumor have it that we will get a Mario 40th anniversary direct on September 12th. That seems strange because September 12th is on a Friday and Nintendo doesn’t do directs on Fridays. Will we get one? With the way Nintendo have been so weird of late (more than usual) I just don’t know. If we do get one, these are my predictions.
Opening
For the first time, I will guess on how the direct will begin. I think the direct will show a montage of every Mario game. Then after that, Mario’s creator the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto will show up. He will talk about the way he made Mario and the history of the series.
The second Mario movie trailer
I think that this is a 100% slam dunk. The movie is coming in March next year. Nintendo will show the trailer.
Mario kart world DLC
I think this will happen and it must happen. Nintendo needs to bring more life into the game.
Super Mario bros wonder DLC
Speaking of DLC, the last Mario game Super Mario bros wonder might get DLC with new stages and powers.
Luigi’s Mansion 4
Of course we can’t leave Mario’s baby brother out of this. We might see a trailer and gameplay.
A new collection
Of the 35th anniversary, Nintendo did a collection called Super Mario 3D all stars. The games are Super Mario 64, Super Mario sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. I don’t know what games will be in it. This will most likely not happen, but I would the collection to consist of the very first Super Mario bros game, Super Mario bros 2, Super Mario bros 3, Super Mario world, and Super Mario land.
Remake or upgrade
I believe that they will be a remake or upgrade for Super Mario odyssey, Super Mario bros wonder, and/or Super Mario galaxy 2.
Merchandise
Nintendo might show off new toys, board games, clothes, and etc.
Open world Mario
For my last prediction, I do believe that we will see the first look for the much rumor open world Mario game.
