Back on July 31 when the partner showcase was announced, I was going to make a prediction blog about it but I ran out of time that day. It turns out that it was a good thing. The reason is that 99.5% of my would-be predictions would have been wrong. I will do a mini rant later on but let go over which I thought were the highlights.
The showcase started off right with Monster hunter 3: twisted reflection. I’ve never played a monster hunter game, but this did look good. The next highlight is Dragon ball: sparking zero. The hit fighting game based on the classic series of cartoons is heading to both the switch 1 and 2. The game will come out on November 14. Third is Pac man world 2: re-pac. I never played the original, but this looks like good old 3D platforming fun. It comes out on both switches on September 26. The next one is Persona 3 reload. If I did make a prediction blog, this would be the only game I would gotten correct. It will be out on the switch 2 on October 23.
Madden is returning to Nintendo on August 14. When I saw this, I thought that Dead space in coming to the switch 2 but that is not the case. The game is Crones: the new dawn. this is a third person shooter that takes place in a monster filled world. I might give this one a shot. It’s available on the switch 2 on September 5. Sega is really showing their support of the switch 2 with both Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2. Both games will be ready to buy on November 13. Sega brings another game to the showcase. It is the returning IP Shinobi. It is Shinobi art of vengeance. The game will be out on August 29. A demo of the game is out now. I’ve downloaded it yesterday. I will review it.
The last two highlights are both from Square Enix. For the first second I thought this is Octopath traveler 3 bit it isn’t. It is a new action RPG called the adventures of Elliot: the millennium tales. I won’t say anything else about this game because like just with Shinobi, I had downloaded the demo too. I will review this demo too. As for now the demo is only on the switch 2 but the game will be on other systems as well. The last game is Octopath traveler zero. You can now create your character and build or restore a town. Could this be a prequel to the other two games? I believe I had seen four or five characters from the first two games. Octopath zero will be on both switches on December 4.
With all of these highlights overall, this wasn’t a good showcase. i had a feeling that we weren’t going to get the big guns like Elden ring or FF7 remake but still needed something better than what we got. We really needed a general direct. We need the release dates for games like Kirby’s air riders and prime 4. We are in August. You need time to promote and market these major AAA titles. I am getting worried that prime 4 will not be coming out this year. I know that the game has been rated it Korea but that is still no guaranteed that it will come this year. I am starting to question what Nintendo is doing so far in the switch 2 generation. Nintendo needs to get their act together quickly.
