I am sorry that I couldn’t cover the latest Sony state of play. I was busy. The show itself was not good. The only highlight for me was the new Marvel fighting. Wow, it got a long title so I will just call it Tokon for now on. It is a 4 vs 4 fighting game from Arc system works. The good people that made Guilty Gear and Blue Blaze. In the trailer we saw only eight fighters. Who else will be on the base roster? I will do my best and guess. This is not my dream roster. That will come very soon. I have two rules for doing this. First I have to have a number of fighters in the base roster. We don’t know how many they are this time. I am going with 32. When we get the official number, I will do another one. The second rule is I have to think like Marvel. Sometimes that is not a good thing. I have to think what characters do Marvel themselves want on the roster. Round one begins.
Let’s get the eight known fighters out of the way. They are Ms. Marvel, Captain America, Iron Man, Storm, Spider Man, Dr. Doom, Ghost Rider, and Star Lord. With them named, now I will guess the remaining 24 fighters (if 32 is the right number) in the game.
I will start with Thanos. I do think that he will be the main bad of the game and be playable as well. With Thanos mark off, I think I will name the rest of the baddies as the roster will need some. First is Thor’s brother Loki. Next is the cap’s greatest nemesis, Red skull. I don’t know if he ever been in a Marvel vs Capcom game. Up next is the evil robot Ultron. The X men greatest foe Magneto makes the cut. The last one of the villains is not really a villain but it is the anti-hero Venom.
Now I guess which ones of the ladies that might be one the roster. We already have Dr. Doom, so we need someone from the fantastic four. Since we with have Ms. Marvel who can already stretch out her limbs, Mr. Fantastic is most likely not on the roster. So I will go with his wife Sue Richards. We need a lady that can use magic. I was thinking about the scarlet witch, but I am thinking that Marvel will go with Magik. The roster needs a female bruiser, so I am picking She Hulk. I am hoping that this version is not from the show. Another green lady that I believe will be in the roster is Gamora. I think that Marvel will not the wasp in the game. Next is Black Widow. I don’t think that the Black Widow’s avenger teammate Hawkeye will not be here, so I am going with female Hawkeye aka Kate Bishop. The last lady I think will on the roster will be an odd one. It is Squirrel girl.
Now for the rest of the roster. We need a couple of more street level heroes to add. I think Marvel will have both Dare Devil and Luke Cage. We have to conclude the rest of the avengers Thor and Hulk. Marvel will have Black Panther to the mix. Maybe it will be the new Black Panther that is white. I doubt it. Next is the captain’s sidekick Falcon. We need a male magic user so Dr. Strange will be in the game. Finally, we need more X men here. Come on we all know that Wolverine is a lock. Most likely Marvel will add Cyclops. The last one is personal for me. I am not sure he will make it but I am hoping that my favorite Marvel character will be here. It is my boy Gambit.
