This is not an April fools joke. Let me cut to the chase. I have had it with the series x. I am not a huge Xbox fan, but I have supported all their console. This time it is different with the series x. In almost five years Microsoft show me nothing on why I spend $500 on this thing. I think that I only turn on my series x about once or twice so far in 2024.
Right now the brand is in deep s***. Let me give you a few examples of why Xbox is failing right now. Being outsold by the ps5 3 to 1 in the US. Being outsold in Europe 10 to 1, Series X and S sales are down 47% year over year in February in Europe, 3rd parties reportedly uncertain why they keep supporting the series X and S, game pass is not growing, bringing their games to other platforms, and now they don’t want no sexy women in their games.
Now they want to bring both steam and the epic game store to Xbox. Too me it is a sign of desperation. They said that they are going to make a new console and/or a handheld but right now they are giving me no reason to buy them when they can’t fix the series x and s bad state that they are in.
I am also not pumped their upcoming lineup or lack of games. Avowed looks like a cheap VR game and south of midnight most likely we be another woke piece of crap. I was hyped for the new fable until we saw the man pretending to be a woman. I was excited for the Indiana game until that guy or whatever he identifies as said that the game is for modern audience. When he said that, the game a hard pass for me.
With all the studios that they bought over the years, they should be bringing out games like a factory. Where are the next gears, spryo, crack down, banjo, and of course perfect dark. Where are these studios doing. Not making games for sure. This is Straight up mismanagement. They had been in 3rd place for years. How does Phil still have his job? He must have some inside dirt on one of the higher ups, I guess. The bigger question is how these Xbox fan boys and girls keep defending this? One more thing before I move on. The Xbox brand isn’t going away anytime soon. Yet if you are Microsoft, how much long you can support this? Even they are a two trillion-dollar company, Microsoft might reach their limit with it.
With all of this said, I will give Xbox one more shot. On April 1, 2025, If I don’t see significant improvement and signs that they are turning around the ship, I will sell my series X. Xbox better show me that I didn’t spend $500 on a large paper weight that is collection dust in my home.
