In my first “the legend of Zelda” casting, I had picked the actors I thought would be best to play the main three characters. I selected Tom Holland as Link, Mckenna Grace as Zelda, and Idris Elba as Ganondorf. Now it’s time to pick the supporting cast of the live action movie. Heck it could also work as a live action TV show. Thought out the history of the series there have been a lot of characters. Most of them showing up in more than one game. I will not do every one of them. I will just pick the ones that in my opinion should be movie or a possible trilogy. Like with my Bayonetta extra casting blog, I will just pick the actor or actress I feel is right of the role instead of doing a list of possible actors and actresses.
King Rhoam
The first three are the ones I feel will mostly likely be in the movie. Let’s start with Zelda’s father King Rhoam. He is in “breath of the wild” and another Zelda game. I wanted an actor that is old but not too old. I ‘am going with Josh Brolin. He played Thanos in the MCU. He was one of the finalists for the role of Ganondorf. He got the right bulit and voice of the role.
Great Deku tree
The sentient tree is in “breath of the wild”, “wind waker” and “ocarina of time”. He is the guardian of the forest haven and home of the koroks. The actor that plays him needs to have great voice that is both wise and bold. James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman would be perfect. Yet I picked another actor with a great voice. My selection is Jeffery Wright. He stars in the show “westworld” and the Batman film.
Impa
Impa serves as Zelda’s nursemaid and/or bodyguard in a few games. She also gives out guidance and information to Link in the games that she is in. I need an actress that is both tall and beautiful. Since most likely that Impa will be in a couple of fight scenes, the actress needs to kick ass as well. My pick is Charlize Theron. She has plenty of experience in action movies like “Mad Max fury road”, “atomic blonde”, and “the old guard”. Scarlett Johansson is my second choice.
Saria
Saria shown up in ocarina of time. She is Link’s friend that lived with in the Kokiri forest with him. She could be a possible love interest for Link, but I think that both I think both better off remaining friends. I ‘am going with Olivia Cooke. She is in “the house of the dragons” and the film “ready player one”. Sarah Catherine Hook is my 2nd choice.
Malon
She is the cute red head that gave Link his horse Epona in ocarina of time. She is also in the “four swords”. I need a red head to be Malon. Sadie Sink is the right choice for the role.
Navi
Navi is the fairy that guides Link in ocarina of time. We don’t know what she really looks like. In the game, she is just a glowing ball with wings. She doesn’t really have a personality either. I can go any direction I want with her. I want her to be sweet and kind. I want her to have some spunk to her and will challenge Link in his decision making. I had a hard time picking the actress to play her. I want someone who is a young teenage. I’m giving thanks to Brian Seeker’s YouTube channel for this pick. I’ am going with Glory Joy Rose on this one. She is an unknown actress that had a role in the show “this is us”. By watching her own YouTube channel, I think she can play Navi well.
Fi
The last character I’ am with is Fi. Fi is the spirit that is inside the Goddess sword in “skyward sword”. Fi’s only personality is that is the robotic. Just like my version of Navi, I want Fi to have some spunk to her. Also she needs to be play by a young teenager as well. My choice is Madeleine Mcgraw. If you watch the movie “the black phone” then you might understand why I selected, her.
At some point I might change my mind on my selections. I will do an update blog if I do, That is it for now. There is plenty of other characters that could be in the movie. I will be back for part two.
