I am a fan of the mortal kombat series, but I must admit that i don’t like the 11th edition of the series. The gameplay is fine but pretty much everything else sucked. From the fact that you have to be online all the time, the damn towers of time, the numbing time wasting grinding, Ronda’s horrible voice acting (seriously stick with wrestling), and of course I can’t leave out the crappy story. All of these factions just took the joy I had from the game. Whenever MK12 is announced I hope the game will have massive improvements and fix all the issues that myself and other fans have with the game. This is my list on how Mk12 can be way better than the last game.
Big roster
MK12 needs a big roster. The size should be between 40 to 50 fighters. Of course there need to be space for new characters and DLC characters. Yet most of the roster should be made of the base characters. Speaking of the base roster, it should have a few fighters that haven’t been in a MK game in years. I will give a update of my dream roster in my blog soon.
No guest fighters
I know that this will unlikely happen. It is cool seeing alien fighting against the predator but the guest characters are just taking space from both new characters and old characters that need to come back.
Stage cycles
The environments in stages should change every you are in one. For example the time of day. One time it should been day, evening, night, sunrise, and sunset. Also the weather should change as well. One time it should be raining. At other times it should snowing or a heat wave.
Destroyable stages
Yes they had them in past games, but they need to make a comeback. When someone hit their foe at a certain spot so hard that they fall into a different area. Just like injustice.
Add seasons
When a new season comes, each one should have DLC and new fighters. What else needs to include? New stages, music, costumes, and new chapters of the DLC story.
Limited costumes
Variety is the spice of life but in MK11’s case it was way too much. They have many outfits to choose from, but the issue is that most of them were just color swaps. For MK12 they just need between 3 and 5 different outfits with just 3 to 4 different colors. They can still have DLC costumes as well for certain fighters.
Don’t need to be online all the time
Now we are getting to the real issues that need to be fixed. Enough said! when their servers ultimately go offline, all the stuff to brought all gone forever.
No more next to impossible challenges
The towers of time are bad enough but the one with the challenge that almost can’t be beaten worst. From a foe that can beat you in one or two hits, fighting with dodging incoming lasers, your foe keeping getting power up and increase life, and so on. Most times it’s too much.
New crypt
I like the crypt in MK10 but hate it in Mk11. The main issue is that you get kill all the time. With all fire breathing spiders, poison spiders, and booty traps that kills you with one hit. Most times when I swing the hammer, it doesn’t hit the spiders. it takes the fun out of it. Give us a life bar in the crypt with the chance to increase the bar. Also give us power ups in order to give us a better chance to fight. Keeping the puzzles are fine. The most important of that needs to fix in the crypt is the rewards. Give us better rewards like new weapons, new costumes, new stages and unlocked secret characters. Most don’t give a damn about the artwork, music, and other crap.
No Grinding
This part is why I just stopping playing MK11. It takes forever getting coins, hearts, and the green orbs in order to open a chest. Increase the amount you get by winning matches, preforming both fatalities and brutalities, and putting off certain tasks like preforming 10 fatalities in a row.
Reboot the story
The biggest thing that must the fix is the story. MK9 and 10 stories were just meh! MK11’s is just dog crap. If you think about it for two minutes, it doesn’t make senses. I am afarid for the MK12 story. I hate the idea going back to the past and that’s where the game takes place. I rather have another massive reboot where the series can start brand new. Maybe the other realms can be part of the story.
