As we all know E3 2022 both physically and digital in cancelled. If there is no E3 next year then I think E3 is dead for good. Back to the point, Nintendo could still hold a summer direct of their own, but Nintendo could do a Nintendo and not have a direct next month. If and I big if Nintendo do have a direct, these are my guesses on what might be shown. Next to my predictions, I will put what I think what will highly likely, 50/50, highly unlikely.
New Donkey Kong game – 50/50
This rumor been around for some time. If this comes out next year.
New games for N64 – highly likely
This is pretty much guaranteed. Pokemon snap is the last known N64 game that is coming the expansion pack. Nintendo must annouced the next set of N64 games coming. Hopefully we will get Goldeneye and perfect dark.
A new retro console will come to the expansion pack – highly likely
I believe this will happen. If not in the summer direct then in an upcoming direct. Maybe in the fall direct. I want the Sega Saturn or Dreamcast to be next. I won’t mind if the next system be the neo geo or turbo graphics 16.
New genesis games to the expansion pack – 50/50
Maybe they will announce a new set of games.
Wind waker or twilight princess will come out this year – 50/50
We all know by now that breath of the wild 2 has been push back to 2023. Also, we know that Nintendo loves to release a Zelda game every year. As much that I want wind waker or twilight princess (mostly twilight princess) coming to the switch, I just don’t know. I hope that all of those rumors are correct but i got a bad feeling that the rumors are wrong. I won’t be shocked if Nintendo do a Nintendo and release a Zelda game that some might not care about. Like the minish cap, four swords, or spirit tracks. I still fearing that Nintendo will release both wind waker and twilight princess to the expansion pack at some point.
Mario odyssey 2 – highly unlikely
Time after time I hope that we will get some news about this game. With the new Mario movie not coming out this year, I given up hope that will hear nothing about the game this year. If it’s real in the first place.
Metroid prime 1 remake coming the year – highly likely
With Metroid dread being a big hit, Nintendo needs to capitalize and keep the Metroid gravy train going. I do believe that the prime remake will come this year. Most likely in August, October, or December.
Metroid prime 4 seek peek – highly likely
Ever since the game had to restart production back in 2019, the only news we got was an image that came out three months ago. I don’t think that the game is coming out this year or maybe next year. I think it’s time that Nintendo and retro studios should at least give us some news or better yet a trailer.
No 3rd party games – highly unlikely
Unless a third party game is coming to the switch via the cloud, they will be no major 3rd party games coming to the switch. I think they mostly move away from the switch and they start making games for the ps5 and series x/s. This is one of many reasons why a more powerful switch is needed.
No new breath of the wild 2 footage – highly unlikely
It’s not going to happen.
An old IP returns – highly unlikely
Let’s face it, classics series like F zero, kid Icarus, or Star fox is unlikely coming to the current version of the switch.
Astral Chain 2 – 50/50
Rumor has it that Astral chain 2 is in development and it will come out sometime next year. Maybe we will see a trailer at the direct.
Bayonetta 3 comes this year – 50/50
Last year we finally saw something about Bayonetta 3. Will the game come out this year? I don’t know. I think that the game is still in production hell.
If there is a direct, I will go back and see what I got right and what I got wrong.
