Happy 4th of July everyone! This is America’s 250th birthday. If you live in the USA, you should be grateful that you live in the greatest country in the world. 250 years ago today, we got are freedom. Speaking of freedom, some games need to escape from what they are and come back. I am talking about 3rd party games. Low sales, license issues, or whatever the reason is these series never return. Nintendo bought back Star fox, Sega bought back Crazy Taxi, Konami is bringing back Castlevania, and hell Bubsy has return. With the retro rage going right now, these games need a second chance. i listed 11 games that I believe that must return.
The first game is the one with the lowest shot of seeing the light of day ever again. The game is the bouncer for the PS2. It was made by Square Soft and came out in 2000. The game was a showcase on how powerful the PS2 was. It was a beat em uo like streets of rage. It had potential but one of the many issues the game had was every time you finish a fight, a long cut scene happens. The game flop hard. Now Square Enix, maybe just maybe this gets another opportunity. I will get to another Square Enix IP later. Now the next game is Earthworm Jim. The game release in 1994 for the Genesis and SNES. The game had sequels like Earthworm Jim 2, HD which was a remake of the original, a 3D game for the N64. it had a cartoon series has well. The series just been forgotten. Someone please bring back the game.
The 3rd one is True crime: streets of LA. This is one of my all time favorite Gamecube games. You drive around LA fighting crime. Just imagine an updated remake for modern day consoles. Next is Bonk’s adventure. The first game came out back in 1989 for the TurboGrafx-16. he was meant to be the mascot for the system. You play as a cave boy that uses his large head to headbutt his foes. Now let’s talk about Bomberman. The series started in 1983. The series spanned over 70 games through the years. The last one was Super Bomberman R 2 which came out in 2023.
I will now talk about two fighting games that must return. The first one is Soul Calibur. I love this weapon-based fighter. The last time a game in the series came out was Soul Calibur VI which was back in 2018. It was a soft reboot of the series. The second game is another weapon-based fighter. It is Mace: the dark ages. Like with most games in that era, it was trying to ride the popular Mortal Kombat wave. With both violence and fatalities. Heck it was a more burtal version of Soul Calibur. This game is made by Atari. It started in the arcades and soon ported to the N64 by Midway. If Atari or anyone else owns the right to this game, please fix the controls and bring it to modern hardware.
Next is Actraiser. This is a classic SNES game came in1990. It was a God sim/ 2D side scrolling action game. Actraiser 2 came out for the SNES in 1993. This game didn’t have a God sim in it. Actraiser renaissance is a remake of the first game which came in 2021. We need to new entry into the series. Just leave out the God sim part out. Up now is Mystical ninja starring Goemon. This 1997 action adventure game came out for the N64 in 1997. Goemon and his friends tries to defend Japan from a group of evil shoguns that what to westernize the nation. The best part of the game is that to fight as a giant robot. Nintendo and Konami please get together and bring this game back.
The last two are the biggest ones. First is Titanfall. They said that Nintendo doesn’t listen to the fans. Well EA doesn’t listen either. Fans been begging for a 3rd entry. The last one is biggest one. Titanfall 2 is one of the best shooters I’ve ever played. I don’t care that the game bomb, we need a new one. The last one is Chrono Trigger. It is a damn shame that the classic is trap in the past. Luckly, I got a PS1 copy a few months ago. Whatever the reason that you can not bring this one back, get it fix Square Enix. Now!
I will return with more 3rd party games that need to make a comeback.
