If you read my last blog, then you know that I wasn’t happy with the last direct and the way that Nintendo handle it. Of course next month we should get the annual fall direct. Yet the way Nintendo have been acting this year, I really doubt we will get one. i hope I am wrong but I got a feeling that I am right.
To be fair, many of the games may not be ready to be shown yet. Mainly because of the virus and other factors. Heck 2022 have been the year of the delays. If we do get one, these are my predictions. I will judge my guesses from highly likely, 50/50, and unlikely.
Game boy and Game boy advance games will be part of the expansion pack. highly likely
As the one-year anniversary of the expansion pack is coming near, Nintendo needs to add more value to the service. I believe that all the rumors of game boy and gba games coming will happen.
Goldeneye 64 will happen. highly likely
We have been hearing rumors of the classic n64 game goldeneye coming to the expansion pack for some time like the game boy and gba games. Again with the one year anniversary coming up. What a way to celebrate it with the news that goldeneye is coming. I’m thinking that this could be the opening to the direct.
New breath of the wild 2 footage, highly likely
All of us Zelda fans should be getting ready to play breath of the wild 2 this holiday season, but sadly we have to wait till the spring. In order to keep the fans happy, I think that Nintendo will show a bit of new footage for the show. Yet I don’t think that we will get the title of the game. This is what Nintendo could end the direct with.
Wind waker and twilight princess coming, unlikely
We hadn’t heard anything about wind waker and/or twilight princess is headed towards the switch in some time. I don’t think it’s happening. Sadly I’m thinking we could get something like the four swords or spirit tracks coming to the switch. I believe that both wind waker and twilight princess are coming to the expansion pack in the future. I hope I am wrong about this.
Metroid prime trilogy or prime 1 remake, 50/50
This rumor seems to be around for some time. I believe that it is a chance that the game might come this year. Think about it Splatoon 3 is coming next month, Bayonetta 3 arriving in October, and Pokemon Scarlett and Violet arriving in November. There is no big game coming in December. Nintendo wants a big game coming in that month. Metroid prime trilogy or prime 1 remake could fill that void.
Metroid prime 4 footage, 50/50
I believe that even Nintendo doesn’t know when this game is coming out. To keep this game relative, I think that Nintendo will show footage of the game.
Advance wars 1 and 2 reboot release date, highly likely
This game should be out now but because of real world events it’s not. I think Nintendo will announce the release date.
An old IP returning, 50/50
Donkey Kong, Kid Icarus, Star fox, F zero, Pikman, or something else might show up. Honestly, I’m hoping of Kid Icarus uprising.
A major 3rd party game coming to the switch, 50/50

No new Mario game, highly likely
It been sometime since we had any word on a new mainline Mario game. Sadly I believe we have to wait longer for any word. If they was going to be a sequel to odyssey 2, we would hear rumors about it by now. So I guess we will hear something about the next game in the February direct. Maybe it will be an open world game like breath of the wild.
Mario movie news, 50/50
The movie won’t arrive till spring, but Nintendo might show a little clip from the movie.
Sega CD to the expansion pack, 50/50
I still believe that both the Game boy and GBA is coming to the expansion pack this year but what it doesn’t. What could fill the void. The Gamecube? Too early. I am guessing it could be the Sega CD. Yes they will be Sega CD games in the genesis mini 2 but that doesn’t mean that it could come to the expansion pack this year.
Final Fantasy Pixels, 50/50
This collection of games was rumor to be coming earlier this year, but it wasn’t announced. Maybe it will this time.
New Fire Emblem game, highly likely
There was a leaked image of a character that could be in the next game came out. Also it seems that Nintendo wants to release Fire Emblem game every couple of years. Most likely a new fire emblem will be announced.
